If you are serious about web archaeology then check out the Wayback machine.
Below you will see how I have used it to retrieve long gone material:

MyLifeBits, PhotoBlog and more:

Back in 1999 I started a Fortunecity.com MyLifeBits PhotoBlog.
Sadly, after more than 12 good years, the site closed on April 30th, 2012.
But, luckily, the site is archived on the Wayback machine:
Enter "www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/lol/1165/" into the machine - like this (perhaps?).

The Angelfire index can be found at Angelfire.
Use the Wayback machine:

Home18.inet.tele.dk/silanian is closed now:
But, the index at home18 (TDC,"home18.inet.tele.dk/silanian") can be found in the Wayback machine - like this.
Use the Wayback machine for the home18 article index:

Not in archive

The "mineting" PhotoBlog index was not archived.
And nearly everything was lost as 125mb.com closed down the free services.
Only snippets like mineting usa remains.

I had a Geocities "PhotoBlog and misc." site from 2004 to 2009.
Unfortunatelty, Yahoo closed down Geocities in Oct. 2009.
My sheepxpower site at Geocities was scheduled for archiving aug. 2009, like this.
But alas, archieve.org has not yet published the site.
However, many Geocities pages can now be found at Oocities, including my sheepxpower site.


My homepage at ''http://daimi.aau.dk/~simonl'' existed in an era without webarchiving.
so unfortunately that site was never archived.
Check it out here instead.
